BuzBooks was only born in 2018, after the unfortunate news came out that CreateSpace are no longer offering design services for authors. BuzBooks operate as a division of Fresh01 Ltd, which worked alongside CreateSpace one of the sole agencies in cover design. We were receiving in-between 100-200 covers per month at our peak, for over a period of 3-4 years.

To begin with it was all quite emotional and in a state of shock when the news first came out. However we didn’t mope about, we capitalised on this situation. We felt it would be a shame to stop designing book covers, considering we have so many creative minds here in the studio, and we also have so much experience within book cover design – this is where BuzBooks was born.

Our mission with BuzBooks is to provide book cover design services on the same quality scale as we were providing for CreateSpace. This meant that we have taken the approach of a ‘one-size fits all’, focusing on making our services cost-efficient as we understand not every self-publishing author has a big budget to spend on the design of your cover.

We initially started by choosing the name. We wanted something that would standout, whilst relating to the idea of creating a ‘buzz’ around author book covers. To make it more interesting, we took a ‘z’ out, which may lead consumers to question the name – hopefully making it more memorable.

Since then, we have been building on our brand, going through multiple stages of logo design and colour palette choices. Eventually we have decided to create a logo that uses a combination of typography and an icon to that merge together seamlessly that helps to express visually what we offer as a brand, in a clear and conceptual way.
